Very welcoming staff, even at the ungodly hours the planes arrive at Bishkek airport 🙂 Food was lovely and the pool and the carefully tended gardens a good place to relax before heading out into the countryside or into town.
Excellent customer service. Good location. Pleasant and clean facilities. Good variety at breakfast buffet. Travel agency on-site are very knowledgeable about one to multi-day excursions. Haven’t tried the swimming pool or yurt.
Very pleasant, relaxed laid-back place, away from the hustle and bustle but near enough to walk downtown. Good-sized, clean and comfortable rooms, friendly welcoming dining room area where you can lounge all day if you like with as much coffee and tea as you want, pleasant swimming pool and a lovely garden with cosy corners everywhere: we felt very much at home. Friendly and helpful staff and very reasonable prices.
This review is for Asian Mountains No 1. We were surprised at the Bishkek airport to be asked if we wanted AM 1 or 2 as we did not know then that there are 2 hotels with the same name and same owners. We’ve heard that AM 2 is also good, but our experience is with AM 1, which we thoroughly enjoyed during our total of 4 nights there last September. The Guest House is tucked away at the end of a side street off a pot-holed larger street that itself leads to one of the main avenues of Bishkek. A walk into the city centre at a leisurely pace will take maybe 30 minutes. Our room was very nice, reasonably spacious, the ac worked well and it was quiet. Good wifi also. We overlooked the lovely swimming pool behind the hotel. We did hear the train rumbling through (front rooms face the tracks) but noise was not a problem. The breakfast is excellent and the breakfast room cosy and charming. The managers can also provide light lunches and dinners if given enough notice. Bishkek has excellent beer and we happily enjoyed ours outside in the lovely front garden after a hot, dusty day of touring the city on foot.
